WESTMINSTER, CO — Trivent Safety Consulting, of Westminster, Colorado, previously approved by the Steel Erectors Association of America (SEAA) as a SEAA/NCCER Ironworker Training Unit and Assessment Site, now also has a registered ironworker apprenticeship program.

The company utilized the SEAA Ironworker Apprenticeship program template, which meets the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment, and Training Administration guidelines for apprenticeship standards.

“As the group administrator for the structural steel ironworker apprenticeship, we are able to share our resources with other area erectors," said Bryan McClure, Owner. "Currently, more than 20 apprentices from High Plains Steel Services LLC, Windsor, Colorado, and Flawless Steel Welding LLC, Denver — which are also members of SEAA — are enrolled in classes."

“SEAA/NCCER Ironworker Training and Apprenticeship ensures that ironworkers have the skills and knowledge necessary to be safe on the jobsite, competitive in the workplace, and satisfied in their careers,” McClure said.

“As an NCCER Accredited Training Sponsor, SEAA helps member companies to position themselves for reduced exposure and improved productivity,” said Tom Underhill, SEAA Executive Director.

Recently, both High Plains Steel Services and Flawless Steel Welding received awards for improvements to their safety records based on evaluations of their EMR ratings, OSHA 300A statistics, and safety program processes over the last three years.

Trivent Safety, employing certified safety consultants, provides full service training solutions, including program development and delivery, as well as train-the-trainer curriculum and site safety inspections. Courses include crane and rigging, hazardous material, steel erection, fall protection, and more.

Founded in 1972, SEAA is the only national trade association representing the interests of steel erectors, fabricators, contractors, and related service providers. The association promotes safety, education, and training programs for steel erector trades, including its Ironworker Craft Training curriculum. The association works in partnership with other steel construction, design, and steel product organizations to protect the interests of those who construct steel structures.
